Mark Herzog

Small Business Representative

Agilius Bioscience

Mark Herzog is President of Agilius Biosciences LLC, where he serves as a fractional executive for biopharmaceutical and medical device companies operating at the intersection of global health security policy, medical countermeasure development, and government procurement strategy.

Mark brings more than 25 years of executive leadership experience building businesses, securing government capital, and turning promising science into deployed medical countermeasures. Before founding Agilius, he served as a Senior Vice President at a pharmaceutical company, where he led a medical countermeasures business unit from inception — guiding strategy from business development and government prototype contracting through FDA approval, commercialization, and military and civil defense acquisition and deployment. Under his leadership, the company secured more than $100 million in U.S. government and foreign contracts, negotiated sole-source international procurement agreements, and drove sustained revenue growth in a complex, highly regulated market.

Mark is active across the medical countermeasure and CBRN defense community, including the Medical Countermeasures Coalition (MC2), the CBRNE Industry Group, the Medical Technology Enterprise Consortium (MTEC), and BARDA’s Rapid Response Partnership Vehicle (RRPV). In 2025 he was elected by his peers to serve as a member of the Executive Committee of the Medical CBRN Defense Consortium (MCDC).

Mark holds an undergraduate degree in Government from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from Virginia Commonwealth University.
